Week of June 18: ProvidenceĀ by Caroline Kepnes

Caroline Kepnes’s latest novel centers around the strange small-town occurrences that happen when you least expect them. Four years ago, Chloe’s best friend Jon disappeared without a word and now that he’s mysteriously returned, unaware of where he’s been for years, the two will find that he now has special powers. Meanwhile, students at a nearby college in Providence, Rhode Island are turning up dead with no explanation. This new novel begs readers to ask questions about the unknown as a determined detective does his best to solve the problems of the small town.

Caroline Kepnes is the author ofĀ You,Ā Hidden BodiesĀ andĀ Providence. She has worked as a pop culture journalist for Entertainment Weekly and a TV writer onĀ 7th Heaven,Ā The Secret Life of the American TeenagerĀ and the upcoming adaptation ofĀ You. Originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts she now writes full-time and lives in Los Angeles.

The CompletionistĀ by Siobhan Adcock

For fans ofĀ The Handmaid’s Tale, this new novel from Siobhan Adcock takes readers into a dystopian America where infertility rates have soared and one set of siblings do their best to retrieve their missing sister. Fredericka’s sister has disappeared and as much as Fred would like to be the one to track her down, her miraculous pregnancy will keep her from beginning this quest. Asking for her brother’s help, the young man begins his mission to find their sister and as he gets deeper into the underground world she was working in, he finds out the true dangers of her viciousĀ job and unlocks damaging family secrets along the way.

Siobhan Adcock received her MFA in fiction from Cornell University, and her short fiction has appeared in several literary magazines. She has worked as a writer and editor for Epicurious, Gourmet.com, iVillage.com, and The Knowm among other digital publishers. She lives with her family in Brooklyn, New York.
