Common FAQs About Our Review Opportunities

What does it mean to be considered for review opportunities?

We’ll send an email around to our reviewer list when we have copies of books available for review. By signing up below, you’ll be on our email list and receive emails when we have books available for review. In that email, there will be a link for you to click and complete a form to be considered for the review opportunity. Please note, this is not a guarantee you’ll receive a copy. Our copies are extremely limited and we choose reviewers based on a number of different criteria.

We select reviewers based on a number of different criteria including but not limited to photo quality, engagement on your posts, how well the book aligns with your feed and audience, #ownvoices perspectives, and if you’ve worked with us recently on another campaign.

We ask that you consider the books, their subject matter and their genre before applying for a copy. If it’s not a great fit, don’t worry! We work on hundreds of books each year and we’re sure you’ll find one you love. By respecting your fellow influencers and reviewers and not requesting books that aren’t truly the best fit for you, you allow other reviewers to have the chance to review a book with us.

If you’ve already reviewed a book for us in the past couple months, we ask that you wait for another opportunity in the future. In an effort to provide as many people as possible with the opportunity to review a book for us, we try not to select reviewers for back-to-back opportunities. Please wait for another opportunity in the future in order to allow your fellow bookstagrammers who haven’t yet received a book to have the opportunity to be chosen.

Usually, the answer is no. Sometimes an author or publisher will have a minimum threshold that we will honor when providing their book to reviewers. We do try to work with nano- and micro-influencers as often as possible, so keep bookstagramming, keep interacting, keep growing your following, and keep applying.

We are committed to building a representative review community. These questions are entirely optional on this sign up form and when you apply for specific opportunities, but your answers help us identify any gaps in our community and in our review coverage.
