ALLIE LARKIN’s “Stay”
“Stay” is the perfect Valentine’s Day book. It is lighthearted and fun, intertwining a tale of finding a best friend in a one-hundred pound German Shepherd with one woman’s quest to find romance with the right man.

LAURA DAVE’s “London is the Best City in America”
A brother, Josh, and sister, Emmy, embark on a road trip to self-discovery after they both left their respective fiancés. Each is searching for “the right thing to do.” With great characters and a more than believable story, this journey is perfect for February 14th.

LENORE HART’s “The Raven’s Bride”
This is an unusual Valentine’s Day story about the love between Edgar Allen Poe and his wife Sissy, who was also his cousin. The novel is written from Sissy’s point of view who shares a new perspective on the great poet.

SARAH PEKKANEN’s “Skipping a Beat”
This book explores love through the eyes of Julie Dunhill whose husband Michael has a heart attack and become a different man. Julia struggles to come to terms with this new Michael and make the decision to stay with him or leave the only man she’s ever loved.

EMILY BRONTE’s “Wuthering Heights”
A classic story about the unfortunate love between Catherine and Heathcliff. A beautifully written novel that transcends decades, “Wuthering Heights” will leave you breathless this Valentine’s Day.

AMY BLOOM’s “Where the God of Love Hangs Out”
Bloom’s latest collection looks at love in many forms through a keenly perceptive lens. Two sets of stories that read much like novellas form the book’s soul. Readers glimpse the attraction, heartbreak and grief of two different couples. The four stand-alone stories, while nice, have a hard time measuring up against the more immersive interlinked material, which, really, is quite sublime.

NICHOLAS SPARK’s “The Lucky One”
Each of Nicholas Spark’s books seems to capture a beautifully crafted story of two people finding each other. This was my recommendation for this year’s Valentine’s Day because not only is it an amazing story, it is also being turned into a movie starring Zac Efron

JANE AUSTEN’s “Pride and Prejudice”
If you’ve never read it, this February 14th is your perfect opportunity! If you’ve already read it, there’s never a better time like Valentine’s Day to pick up this timeless classic again. This book epitomizes romance.

AUDREY NIFFENEGGER’s “The Time Traveler’s Wife”
A man with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel falls in love with Clare, the only woman who can keep him grounded. The relationship between the two characters feels completely real despite the sci-fi aspects of the story.
