We want to take the time to introduce the newest member of the BookSparks team, Janay Lampkin! Janay is our new account coordinator and is joining our team after recently graduating from Arizona State University’s prestigious Walter Kronkite School of Journalism. With experience in personal styling, marketing, management, pitching and developing creative social media strategies, Janay discovered her passion for PR. As an avid social media junkie, she is most excited about creatively showcasing SparkPoint’s clients and brands.
To get to know her a little better, here are the top five books that inspire Janay:
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
Following a divorce and a crushing depression, Gilbert set out to examine three different aspects of her nature, set against the backdrop of three different cultures: pleasure in Italy, devotion in India, and on the Indonesian island of Bali, a balance between worldly enjoyment and divine transcendence.
Bossypants by Tina Fey
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we’ve all suspected: you’re no one until someone calls you bossy.
My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult
An emotionally riveting story of a family torn apart by conflicting needs and a passionate love that triumphs over human weakness.
Sybil by Flora Rheta Schreiber
An unbelievable yet true story of Sybil Dorsett, a survivor of terrible childhood abuse who as an adult was a victim of sudden and mysterious blackouts. What happened during those blackouts has made Sybil’s experience one of the most famous psychological cases in the world.
The Receptionist by Janet Groth
In a Mad Men-esque place with adulterous husbands, booze-hounds and some of the magazine’s eccentric luminaries, one woman recounts her days managing the lives and even taking the occasional phone message for some of the biggest and most fascinating names of The New Yorker in her evocative memoir.
