Just Add Magic has also made the transition from page to TV screen as a live action series on Amazon Prime with the help of a creative “slumber party in a box” campaign by BookSparks. Steena Holmes is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who keeps it real with books concerning love, family dynamics and women’s issues. She’s has more than 25 novels and has no intention of stopping. She does an amazing job cultivating an engaged online community through a secret Facebook group. Keep it up, Steena! We love it.
Taylor Jenkins ReidTaylor Jenkins Reid is an author and screenwriter who slays in both arenas. Her novel After I Do has been picked up for adaptation into a TV series by Freeform (formerly ABC Family). Her novel Maybe in Another Life was named a 2015 Summer Book Pick by People Magazine, Cosmopolitan and US Weekly. In the film world, she wrote the Hulu original series “Admissions” with her hubby Alex. She has found her groove–smart, sassy, predicaments of the heart. Her latest novel, One True Loves, literally has us skipping meetings to finish it up. YASS, Taylor! Slay!
Susie Orman Schnall is the author of On Grace and most recently The Balance Project. The Balance Project was inspired an interview series of the same name on her blog in which Schnall speaks with many amazing women including the balance queen herself, Reese Witherspoon. She has also worked with Working Mother magazine on a series of Balance Project videos. Susie is the perfect example of building a BRAND not just a book platform. An amazing woman helping other amazing women by talking to amazing women? That’s a true BookSparks All-Star!
Suzanne Palmieri is a bestselling author of The Witch of Bourbon Street, The Witch of Little Italy and The Witch of Belladonna Bay. Her books have been translated into five different languages and The Witch of Bourbon Street was named a Summer Book Pick by Nylon Magazine. She’s a great example, again, of finding your groove and making it work. We’re awaiting the Next Witch novel and even more radness, Suzanne!
Colleen Oakes has penned many whimsical and wildly successful novels, including the Elly in Bloom series, the Queen of Hearts series, and most recently the Wendy Darling series. Queen of Hearts represents her jump into writing twists on common fairytales and has been optioned for a feature film with Universal Studios and picked up by HarperCollins for international distribution. Wendy Darling: Stars was recently featured on MTV news, and Wendy Darling: Seas is due this fall. It’s all about telling stories with a fresh, intriguing perspective. Miss Oakes, you are pure magic. Alane AdamsAlane Adams in a transmedia author and literacy advocate, responsible for the Legends of Orkney series and the Thief books. The Legends of Orkney series inspired a mobile game called Battlekasters that continues to tour the country. Alane is also the founder of the RiseUp foundation, which emphasizes literacy in children. So much yes, Alane!
