It’s the last week of June and we’re getting through the summer heat with the next two books from the BookSparks and POPSUGAR Summer Reading Challenge (#SRC2018).

Week of June 25: All We Ever Wanted by Emily Giffin

Emily Giffin’s latest novel tells the story of two very different families who find themselves caught up in a scandalous and damaging situation. Well-off wife and mother Nina Browning couldn’t be more proud of her son who has recently been accepted into Princeton. Tom Volpe, a parent much different that Nina has always struggled to make sure that his daughter has had a great life and now that she’s been accepted into a private high school on scholarship, he feels like he’s finally caught a break. But when a drunken high school party ends in a photo scandal, the two parents will be thrown together in ways they hadn’t ever anticipated.

Emily Giffin, a Chicago native, graduated summa cum laude from Wake Forest University and the University of Virginia School of Law. After law school, she moved to Manhattan and practiced litigation at a large firm for several years while she paid back her school loans, wrote a novel in her very limited spare time, and dreamed of becoming a writer. Dubbed a “modern day Jane Austen” (Vanity Fair) and a “dependably down-to-earth storyteller” (New York Times), Giffin has since penned six more New York Times bestsellers, Something Blue (2005), Baby Proof (2006), Love the One You’re With (2008), Heart of the Matter (2010), Where We Belong (2012), The One & Only (2014) and First Comes Love (2016).

Giffin now resides with her husband and three young children in Atlanta. Her ninth novel, All We Ever Wanted, will be released on June 26, 2018.

Before and Again by Barbara Delinsky

This new women’s fiction novel from Barbara Delinsky brings to light the fear that comes with opening up to new people and the process of starting your life over. Mackenzie Cooper will never forgive herself for the car accident that took the life of her daughter and ultimately ended her marriage and happy life. Having to move to Vermont to get away from the public scrutiny and constant attention, she finds herself starting over under a new name and with new people who seem to like her for who she really is. As she gets more comfortable in her new surroundings, she’ll have to decide how much of her life she wants to divulge and the consequences of letting people get close to her again.

Barbara Delinsky  is an American writer of romance novels, including 19 New York Times bestsellers. She has also been published under the pen names Bonnie Drake and Billie Douglass. Her novels are character-driven studies of marriage, parenthood, sibling rivalry, and friendship, and she’s been blessed in having readers who buy them eagerly enough to put them on the major bestseller lists. One of her latest, Sweet Salt Air, came out in 2013. Blueprints, my second novel with St. Martin’s Press, became my 22nd New York Times bestselling novel soon after its release in June 2015.  Before And Again, her newest, is being published on June 26, 2018.
