Everyone knows about Oprah’s Book Club, but she’s not the only powerful lady in town with hot reads. More and more, celebrities, entertainment magazines and women’s websites are creating opportunities for readers to discover new books and join a community.

Reese Witherspoon

America’s sweetheart and darling of some of our rom com favorites, Reese Witherspoon is also a book babe. On Instagram, you can follow her most recent reads by following #RWBookClub. But her love of books is not limited to a simple snapshot.

Her production company, Pacific Standard, has already developed a reputation for creating outstanding book-to-movie adaptations with the release of Gone Girl and Wild in 2014 and many more book-inspired movies to come.

Uzo Aduba

Apparently “Crazy Eyes” is crazy about books. Orange is the New Black actress Uzo Aduba is a total bookworm and we can’t stop scrolling through her Instagram feed.

Not only does she offer a look inside her bookshelf, she also offers a diverse and wide reading collection you may not find on every list. She even takes the opportunity to promote a book written by her OITNB cast mate, Diane Guerrero, on the subject of immigration.

Emma Watson, Our Shared Shelf

Possibly the most powerful celebrity bookworm, Emma Watson and her book club, Our Shared Shelf, could very likely change the book world. From her depiction as book-loving characters like Hermoine and Belle, to her completely book-packed Instagram, we feel a little unworthy of her bookish glory. In a single post on Instagram, Emma  1.2 MILLION likes for Maya Angelou’s book, Me & Mom & Me… that’s a lot of eyes on one beautiful book. Add her completely feminist charge message and we have unstoppable heart eyes for.

Florence Welch

You may have downloaded all her powerful music, but have you also joined her book club? Florence Welch of the band Florence and the Machine didn’t intend on starting a book club. In fact, it was one of her fans that initiated the reading community in Florence’s honor and the singer took notice.

Now, Between Two Books, the Florence and the Machine Book Club, is enjoyed and endorsed by the artist and the world of books and music is in perfect harmony.

Mindy Kaling

A writer and a reader… our favorite combo. Mindy Kaling has written two honest, funny and eye-opening books – Is Everyone Hanging Out With Me? and Why Not Me? With two great works under her belt, it’s exciting to see which stories she loves.

Mixed in with her goofy and light Instagram are quick shots of her current reads. This includes deep, thoughtful reads such as The Undoing Project by Michael Lewis.

Kim Kardasian and Chrissy Teigan Book Club

That’s right, love em or not, this dynamic celebrity duo is starting a book club. With Kim’s flair for the dramatic and Chrissy’s raw, quirky sense of humor, their reading list is bound to be full of page-turners.

Kim announced that the first read on their list would be Embraced by the Light, a decades-old read with a big spiritual punch. Chrissy followed up the announcement with a light-hearted explanation of how readers can join the club.

“I think you just get the book and read my dude/dudette.”

Redbook

Spring is rolling back around and if you didn’t get the opportunity to check out all the book club picks we coordinated with Redbook, now is the time to refresh your wishlist. These books are still dazzling reads to grab as you say goodbye to winter.

Bustle

Bustle is one great outlet that totally gets the beauty and importance of books. Most recently they have been hooking into the fem-fueled need for books that teach girls and women to know their power and embrace equality.

Brit + Co

At Brit + Co you’re going to get your fix for everything you might need to be a successful mom, working woman, homeowner and everything in between. With their book club you can take a few minutes for yourself with a slew of delightful reading round ups.
