3 Quick Tips for Casting A Spell On Your Social Media

Social media can be an excellent way for us to share our accomplishments with our friends and family. We post pictures of our homemade dinners or even a girls’ night out. But sometimes we can find ourselves becoming unmotivated to post or even just bored with the content we typically share. A great way to get out of this is by freshening up our social media profiles. Lucky for you, there’s a new spooky season upon us which means new landscapes, cozy fashion and cooler temperatures (which gives you the perfect excuse to grab a steamy drink at an Insta-worthy coffee shop). Get ready because we’re about to tell you the perfect ways to cast a spell on your social media accounts this fall.

#1 Let People Get to Know the Real You

Updating your bio and profile photo on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook can be a fun way to clue people in on your life and the things you want other people to know about you. Social media is all about connecting with others. As the years go by, it’s becoming more and more evident that when it comes to social media, people want one thing: connection. Use your platform to let people get to know the real you this fall. Update your bio with a quirky quote you love, the things you’re passionate about, etc. Then pick a picture of yourself that you love and update that profile photo. Doing this can bring you closer to others who share your love for books, photography, philosophy, travel, etc. In addition, don’t be afraid to get candid with your followers and offer them up more tidbits of your life through captions, Instagram Stories and the overall mood of your profile.

#2 Freshen Up Your Feed

Do you ever log into your social media apps and find that you don’t love the content on your feed? Trust us, you’re not alone. This fall, go through the list of people you follow and cut out the accounts you no longer love. This way, you can do more research into the types of accounts you love and free up some space on your timeline for the fun and inspiring content you miss

Once you’ve decluttered the list of people you follow, take a deep dive into hashtags you love (personally, we are obsessed with anything that starts with #books). For example, if you love nature, Google a list of the most popular nature hashtags. This simple search will yield a mile-long list of fun hashtags for you to dig into on Instagram’s Explore page. Doing this fun and simple task will completely refresh your feed and give you more of the inspiring content you want and need.

#3 Try Something New

Ever wanted to try making your feed all black and white images? What about that warm-toned filter you found on VSCO last week? When it comes to social media, there are no rules. You can change your profile, your theme and your caption style on any day, at any given time. Get outside of your normal style this fall and try something you’ve seen elsewhere but never had the courage to try out. Updating your profile like this will not only inspire you but will also give your followers something new to engage with.
