There’s an event happening locally in the BookSparksPR corner of the world that we are very excited to share with you!
Chandler, Arizona-based Seton Catholic Preparatory High School is hosting a special speaking engagement by Immaculée Ilibagiza, author of Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust at 7 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2012, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Faith Community at 3450 W. Ray Rd., in Chandler, Arizona.
Regarded as one of the world’s leading speakers on peace, faith and forgiveness, Ilibagiza has shared her miraculous story with audiences from global dignitaries to school children of how she survived during the Rwanda genocide in 1994. She and seven other women huddled silently together in a cramped bathroom of a local pastor’s house for 91 days as most of her family was murdered. Ilibagiza credits her survival mostly to prayer and to a set of rosary beads given to her by her devout Catholic father prior to going into hiding. Through prayer, she eventually found it possible to forgive her tormentors and family’s murderers.
Tickets to Ilibagiza’s speaking engagement at St. Andrew the Apostle are $15 for general admission. Seating is limited. To purchase tickets online and for additional information, visit www.SetonCatholic.org.
