Where I Write – Jenna Patrick
My favorite place to write is my office. Itās cozy and has a nice window for me to look out of when Iām daydreaming. Iām surrounded by all the tools that aid in the creation of my books ā a white board to jot quick ideas down, a cork board for quick access to character charts and timelines, dual monitors so that I can keep Scrivener up on one screen and plot and/or character spreadsheets up on the other.

But the most important item is a tiny rectangular piece of paper that serves as a reminder in the times that all those other things fail to help me create. Sitting on the desk in my office is a picture frame containing a fortune I received six or seven years ago in a Chinese takeout order. It couldnāt have come at a more perfect time in my writing career ā a day when I had received around my 100th rejection on my second book and I truly needed a sign to keep going. And while Iām not a superstitious person, I will admit it was the fortune that convinced me to write just one more book. And I am so glad I did.
