My weekend read was gripping, pulling me in and not letting me go. I loved this book! Solid 4.5/5. The Ivy League setting, the dysfunctional group of friends, and the secrets we keep. Eating pop tarts so Lorelai Gilmore will be proud of me ? . . . We’re going to see Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 this morning! Woohoooo! ?? . . . . Michele Campbell’s It’s Always the Husband is the story of three young women from different backgrounds who meet at a prestigious university, claim to be friends forever, and end up being absolutely terrible to and for everyone around them. While I couldn’t connect with the characters in the story, Campbell’s writing and pacing made this a page-turner. I wanted to see the resolution. The whole time I read this, I asked myself, how and why can women be this awful to each other over money, status, and boys/men? I think it all comes down to poor role-models and deeply-rooted insecurities manifesting themselves in jealousy, revenge, and control. — This book was sent to me for review, and all opinions are my own! #src2017 @booksparks @stmartinspress

Up next for the @booksparks #src2017 is It’s Always The Husband. This novel is about three best friends and jumps between their college years and their adult lives… and asks the question “How did it come to this?” as one of them is standing on the edge of a bridge and someone else is urging her to jump off.
