She is one of my favorite writers and this book is about the people that shape us when we are growing up, whether it be lovers or friends or friends who become lovers, and how they can affect the adults we become, and those that we would do anything for even as adults.

This brilliant book is being made into a film starring Paul Mescal and Jess Buckley and it’s the historical fiction story of Shakespeare’s son who inspired the play. It’s fascinating and the movie looks outstanding.

A great book about AI and accountability and how it affects one family driving a self driving vehicle that gets into an accident. It’s part mystery/thriller, part commentary on who is culpable when technology is involved, and part family drama. Loved it.

I love a good family drama with secrets and especially with grown sibling adults and it’s beautifully written.

I loved the first few books in the Blood and Ash series by JLA and the spin off/prequel series that begins with A Shadow in the Ember is even better. The series as a whole is a big time commitment but the world she has built is so expansive and the characters are some of my favorites in the fantasy/romantasy genre.

I became totally obsessed with this series earlier in the year and love the characters and world Penn Cole has created. Luther is everything and I can’t wait for book 4!

One of the best true love triangles I’ve read in awhile, I’m rooting for both MMCs equally. Anxiously awaiting the third book and can’t wait to see what happens next!

THE LEGENDBORN CYCLE (Need I say more)! Tracy once again delivers amazing writing and a page turning plot while also taking the series in an unexpected direction that will leave you yearning for more.

While the story doesn’t shy away from some of the horrors of American slavery, the true focus is the fullness of Black humanity and the ability to find light in the darkness.

It’s such a beautiful and masterful representation of a young Black boy with autism. It should definitely be adapted to film.

This book hooked me from the very beginning, and I didn’t want to put it down.

It’s a pretty intense book but I really enjoyed it. It’s soon to be a major motion picture and I can’t wait to see it in theaters.

This was one adrenaline-pumping debut thriller that had me rooting for the bad girls the entire time, while also begging for them to turn themselves in! I loved the two main characters, and the increased downward spiral was intense.

You don’t need to be a mother to appreciate this body of work, you simply need to be a human with an interest in the workings & complexities of motherhood.

I was impressed by the author’s debut and how she captured the main character’s movement through grief.

Historical fiction always has my heart, and Fayne included some magical realism that investigates the impact of religion in the Black community.

The magic system was unlike anything I’ve ever read before! Not to mention it’s a delicious slow burn.

As someone who fell in love with Rebecca’s writing in the Letters of Enchantment duology, being back in that world with her poetic prose was such a treat.

Everything Taylor writes is pure magic, but I especially enjoyed the space aspect. And the romance, although a subplot, was such a heartwarming bonus on top of the badass women in a men-dominated industry story.

This one was magical from start to finish. It reminded me a lot of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. Let’s say a lot of tears were shed.

This book is the perfect blend of dark romance and comedy, and it takes you through a roller coaster of emotions.

I love the dual timeline in this story; it made the emotions and their relationship so much more intense.

The female friendships in this book was so heartwarming and was a great addition to a super emotional and moving story.

This book had so many unpredictable twists and turns that always kept me on the edge of my seat.

It’s a humorous look at what can happen when you priotize your own happiness. The main character being a busy mom made it very relatable.

It’s packed with family drama and likeable characters. The twists and turn surprised me the entire time.

The underlying message of forgivness for others and ourself is a valuable life lesson. Just be prepared to cry, several times.

This book combines two of my favorite things, cooking and reading. If you enjoy a good thriller and are obsessed with celebrity chefs, this book is for you.
