GHOSTS OF

We all know the classic, early 2000’s movie, featuring womanizing heartthrob Matthew McConaughey. Each of his ex-girlfriends comes back one by one, some that were absolutely cringe-worthy, ones that were just plain fun and the unfortunate ones that got away. Well, we couldn’t help but feel as though our past book ‘read’-lationships were coming back to haunt us during this month of love, so we’ve laid out our favorite novels that we just can’t seem to break up with.

The Love WarsThe Love Wars by Alison Hellar

As a matrimonial attorney, Molly Grant has been through more divorces than she’s been in relationships. As each of her insanely rich, media mogul clients come through the door; Molly can’t help but become a little numb to the ridiculous tension between ex-lovers. That is until she meets the client that changes everything…can Molly trust her instincts enough to make the right decision?

Why we just can’t break up with this read: You know the oh-so-sweet tug a not-so-good-for-you relationship? That’s the thread here, just pulling us into the story over and over again to see if Molly will follow her head or her heart. Thank goodness it’s someone else making that decision for once!

The ArrivalsThe Arrivals by Meg Mitchell Moore

Can Ginny and William survive the challenges of a modern family?

Why we just can’t break up with this read: If you were a fan of Parenthood, this book is for you. Now that Parenthood is over and we’re still choked up about the ending, we’re re-reading The Arrivals because every now and then, it’s great to have mom and dad looking out for you as you heal.

Why we just can’t breakup with this read: Sometimes we all need a little escape from reality – a daydream we can get caught up in when our email inbox is simply exploding. Love & Supper ClubsThe Girls’ Guide to Love and Supper Clubs by Dana Bate

Except Hannah can’t be the loving girlfriend with the perfect life – she needs to do this on her own. After starting an underground and slightly illegal supper club, will Hannah finally find her true self?

Why we just can’t breakup with this read: Let’s just say this book is a little bit like obsessively scrolling through Lauren Conrad’s blush pink Instagram feed. With perfect cupcake decorations and a few handsome suitors, who wouldn’t want to indulge in this read every once and a while?

Crush ControlCrush Control by Jennifer Jabaley

That is until she moves back to her mother’s southern hometown to start a new “normal” life. Why we just can’t breakup with this read: The whimsical weirdness of the Las Vegas strip is woven into this novel so well…it’s addicting. We all feel a little “out-there” sometimes and this read gives us reassurance that no matter how hard we try, we’re really never that “normal.”
