The first Summer Reading Challenge launched in 2009, and thanks to our readers it quickly exploded into annual as well as seasonal challenges. We’ve been lucky to add brand collaborations with Reese’s Book Club, Libro.FM, Apple Books, Minted, The Skimm, PopSugar and more. It’s also been fun and exciting to partner with celebrity guests including Katherine Heigl, Vanessa Lachey, Molly Sims, Camila Alves McConaughey and others. Thanks to our readers and fans, as well as these amazing brands and influential women, our Summer Reading Challenge has been reaching over 20 million readers since 2021; reading never goes out of style. 🕶️

Many have gone on to become New York Times best-sellers and have their books adapted to film, including Taylor Jenkins Reid, Grant Ginder, Carola Lovering, and Roselle Lim. Cheers to our amazing clients; they’re all superstars! ⭐

Some of our favorite memories include the in-person events where we were able to bring books center stage at major events including Sundance Film Festival, Alt Summit, PopSugar Playground and more. We worked with brands including Toyota USA, Cosmo Magazine, and Dream Hotels, and celebrities including Busy Phillips and Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt. It’s crazy that we ended up in the same room, at the same time. 😉 Thanks for being there!

It’s been delightful to work on amazing books that were chosen by celebrity book clubs like Reese’s Book Club and Jenna Bush Hager. Way back in 2017, BookSparks launched our own book club, and we’re so grateful to our book club network! As our book club has grown, we’ve recently started partnering up with IRL book clubs for our monthly picks. Dear Reader, thank you for being a part of our book club.
The Red Carpet Era
As streaming exploded and leading services like Netflix, Hulu, and HBO began mining books for fantastic content, we are thrilled they’ve turned to BookSparks to help market these book-to-screen adaptations like Bridgerton, The Witcher and From Scratch. We’ve loved having our influencers come along for the ride (in-person and virtually) as we’ve covered and attended red carpet premieres for adaptations including Luckiest Girl Alive and The Night Agent. Don’t we polish up real nice? ✨
