We can’t get enough of our lovely covergirl and #SRC2016 Host, Emily Giffin! Here, we are chatting with Emily about a few of her summer reading secrets. She’s dishing on her fave summer read of all time, vacation plans and more! Don’t forget to grab her latest release, First Comes Love!

BookSparks: The summer read you keep coming back to?

Emily: Pride and Prejudice. Nothing beats Mr. Darcy and a cold, crisp glass of rosé!

BookSparks: Favorite summer read for this summer?

Emily: Eligible, a modern-day retelling of Pride and Prejudice. Curtis Sittenfeld cleverly illustrates how the issues Jane Austen raised two-hundred years ago (particularly the plight of independent women) still resonate today.

BookSparks: Where are you going for this summer’s vacation?

Emily: I just came back from a family vacation to Disney World and Palm Beach. The rest of June and July will be focused on the launch of First Comes Love—so mostly work—but I always manage to have a lot of fun on my book tours. Then I’ll wrap up the summer with friends in the Hamptons, just as I used to do in my twenties. Well, not just like my twenties—this version will be kid friendly. Ha!

BookSparks: Last book you read in one sitting?

Emily: It was more than one sitting (as a writer, I’m always a little depressed when someone tells me they read a book in one sitting!) But I tore through Kate DiCamillo’s latest Raymie Nightingale with my daughter Harriet. I adore all of her stories, but this one might be her most masterful. Great for children and adults alike.
